Sheffield Family Holiday Fund (registered charity 505590) raise funds in Sheffield to support families in the area to be able to access a holiday. They donate their fundraising efforts to Family Holiday Charity who provide the holiday breaks, and group day trips for families in Sheffield.
The Fund was set up in 1976 by four local volunteers who decided to do something about the fact that 1 in 3 Sheffield families with dependent children had never had a holiday.
Today, the strong trustee board raise valuable funds to support these families facing tough times – from severe and sudden illness, bereavement, disability, mental and physical health challenges, and more.
The team fundraise from local Sheffield based family trusts and foundations, and receive donations from church groups, individuals and sponsored events. Small local organisations adopt them as their “charity of the year”, some local businesses actively engage with activities through the year.
Sheffield Family Holiday Fund is closely affiliated to Family Holiday Charity, sharing the same values and ethos. The two charities have been working closely together since 2005, sharing resources to provide holidays, short breaks and group day trips to families in Sheffield.
